The former Governor of Anambara State and the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party in the just concluded 2023 presidential elections, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, has said the most valuable resource present in Nigeria is the vast uncultivated land in the northern part of the country.

Mr. Obi made the statement on his verified X handle, formerly known as Twitter, in which he disclosed that he recently donated N10 million to Mary Agro Farms in the Udi Area of Enugu State. Mr. Obi added that he is pleased with the progress he has noticed since visiting the farm.

"A few days ago, I visited a large farmland, Mary Agro Farms, in the Udi Area of Enugu State and donated N10 million to support their innovative agricultural productivity. I was impressed by the progress they have made since starting just two years ago, when I first visited and encouraged them with little support. I have consistently maintained that agriculture remains critical to our economic development and that the biggest assets our nation has include the vast uncultivated lands, mostly in the northern states", Mr. Obi tweeted.

Furthermore, Mr. Obi added that boosting agricultural production in the country would help Nigeria generate foreign exchange while reiterating his commitment to help build a new Nigeria driven by maximal productivity, which would be beneficial to every citizen.
