Controversial Nigerian pastor, Dr. Abel Damina has said that paying tithes does not make a christian rich.

The cleric teaching in his sermon said:

"There is no body that will tell you that by paying tithes they became rich, even if they do they are lying.

"There is something they are doing that is giving them money and their religious mind tells them it is the tithes."



Speaking further, the cleric said:

"There is something bigger than money and that is peace with God."

Dr. Abel Damina who has been known for his controversial comments on the 'give to prosper gospel' commonly taught by most pentecostal pastors in Nigeria and abroad made the statement while publicly addressing the subject of tithes in his church.

Recall that the issue of whether tithes are compulsory for a christian has been a subject of controversy for many preachers of the gospel and believers of the faith, given that it was stated in the bible.
